I am delighted to report that our analysis of the survey tells us that most parents/carers are very pleased with the education that the school is providing for their child(ren).  Also, I particularly welcome the positive feedback regarding homework because homework is an area we have been working to improve following the last survey.

I will be writing to invite you to attend a parent forum with me next year.  At the forum there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the survey and to discuss concerns raised in the survey.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the survey; the information gathered will help inform the school development plan for next year.

Here is a sample of some of the many comments that parents made regarding ‘what they feel we are doing well’ and ‘what they feel we need to do to improve’.

Comments

  • I have always felt happy and satisfied with the school.
  • Overall the school is outstanding, the quality of teaching and the seriousness of how the pupils take on board to be respectful and to behave as well as taking bullying seriously.
  • There are good opportunities at this school.
  • Thank you for your co-operation.
  • I am pleased with the progress.
  • The school is one of the outstanding schools.
  • School has always been very accommodating.
  • I like this school.
  • The parents should be allowed to have access to their children’s work books once a week in order for the parents to know and have a clearer picture of the progress their child is making.
  • The quality of school uniform needs to be greatly improved as just one wash to the uniform takes away the beauty of it.
  • More homework should be given to those working in the top groups in order for them to face more challenges and give them that extra push.
  • The school uniform is not up to spec as it does not last. It needs to be changed. Material quality is not up to spec.
  • My son was bullied on 3 occasions and no action was taken and that is something that should be dealt with better.
  • I am happy that my children are safe and are making good progress at this school.
  • I will strongly recommend this school to other parents for their children. They make good progress every day.
  • My child loves this school.
  • We are very happy because my daughter is happy in school. She really enjoys it.
  • I am very happy with all the changes that the school has made over the years.
  • Management should be more concerned about bullying. Canteen, playground should be targeted first. Teachers should face the problems firmly, just not let another to occur and not to try to hide.
  • Everything is good.
  • My child is happy at school all the time.
  • I do understand money/budget for school is tight but perhaps extra English or maths can be taught after school or at weekends; a fee then can be paid by parents.
  • My child loves this school very much.
  • The school needs to have more help available for pupils and parents of children who have difficulty at the school with their behaviour. I feel this area is too lacking.
  • The homework for my child is mostly hard.
  • I am satisfied at the school’s progress, the way of teaching, and way of responding to any concerns about children.
  • I am happy with the school because my son is happy.
  • I will let other friends and family know that I am very happy with this school.
  • My child is very happy at Denbigh Primary School.
  • My son’s teacher was very good this year and helped him to improve greatly.
  • Very good school.
  • I love this school. My child learns properly.
  • I think the learning log homework is rubbish. It is repetitive and does not help with any learning. Teachers should set proper homework, not something random.
  • Thank you to all the teachers.
