PARENT SURVEY OCTOBER 2017

Parental engagement has positive impact on children’s learning and so I am delighted that over 75% of parents/carers responded to the survey on behalf of their childI(ren).

Analysis of the survey

Most parents/carers are very pleased with the education that the school is providing for their child(ren). However, whilst I am very pleased with the overwhelmingly positive feedback, the survey has highlighted areas that we could improve on and I assure you that I will address these during the next few months.

  1. find attached a sample of some of the many comments that parents made regarding ‘what they feel we are doing well’ and ‘what they feel we need to do to improve’.

    There were 415 responses.

  • Great school, great staff
  • Very happy with the quality of teaching
  • Teachers are good, helpful and caring
  • During the start of the school year we had a change of circumstance at home. Teachers were very supportive during this time, helping my child adjust to the upheaval.
  • The children should be taught to be more organized at home, listen to their parents – more discipline, more decency.
  • Extremely helpful school and supportive staff. Could not fault a thing.
  • Best school around.
  • My children enjoy coming to school and they are making good progress.
  • We need more teaching assistants. The children need the support and so do our children with special needs.
  • I am so happy with the progress my child is making in the school and the good teaching.
  • This school is very good.
  • I am extremely happy with this school and the teachers.
  • Really happy so far as my child has settled in well.
  • I’m glad my kids are happy, settled and progressing well at Denbigh. I’m so grateful for after school clubs too but would recommend a variety of clubs like dance, drama, music and sewing.
  • My kids like school.
  • Fantastic school
  • I am happy because my child’s progress is going up.
  • I am really happy with this school
  • As a parent of different year group children I have noticed a very good change and excellent behaviour in the kids.
  • The school follows rules perfectly.
  • It is true to say it is a safe place at lunch and break times because of the prefects.
  • I am very pleased with the progress my child is making.
  • The teachers are very supportive. Thank you.
  • I don’t agree with so many non uniform days. They have now become a punishment and not a reward.
  • I don’t know how effective the school’s bullying policy is, as fortunately I have not had to look it up. I do not know if pupils are well behaved. I feel that the management responsibility lies with parents. What is taught at home is evident in school.
  • My son is bullied at school.
  • Would like some more homework so that my child can progress at school.
  • Feedback from homework is not very constructive.
  • Some of the homework is too advanced.
