At Denbigh Primary School we are committed to the health and wellbeing of our children and staff. We know it helps them to do their best and build upon their academic and personal achievements. We actively promote health and wellbeing, equipping our pupils with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions about their health, both now and in the future. Research evidence shows the following:
- Pupils with better health and wellbeing are likely to achieve better academically.
- Effective social and emotional competencies are associated with greater health and wellbeing, and better achievement.
- The culture, ethos and environment of a school influences the health and wellbeing of pupils and their readiness to learn.
- A positive association exists between academic attainment and physical activity levels of pupils.
