September 2020: Pupils starting in Reception

The impact of Covid-19 has greatly affected our transition arrangements for pupil’s starting with us in September. Under normal circumstances, the school would have held open sessions during this summer term for all parents and their children; to come and take a look at our facilities and to meet our Early Years teaching staff.

Denbigh Primary plans to welcome pupils of our new Reception intake from Monday 21st September for morning sessions only (8:45 - 12:30); and then full-time from Monday 28th September (8:45 - 3:15).

On Wednesday 9th September and Thursday 10th September, we will be holding open sessions for our new pupils and their parents. This will give you all the opportunity to meet your child's class teacher and discuss requirements for the first few days of school. You will also be able to purchase school uniform at these sessions. Letters will be sent to all parents with regards to the open days which will run as follows:

Dolphin Class: Wednesday 9th September     9:30am - 10:30am

Starfish Class: Wednesday 9th September     1:15pm - 2:15pm

Sea Lions Class: Thursday 10th September    9:30am - 10:30am

Octopus Class: Thursday 10th September      1:15pm - 2:15pm

In the meantime, our Early Years Leader, Mrs. Maria Smith, has set up an Early Years learning hub on our school learning platform. This is a useful resource for parents and carers to use with their children in preparation for joining the school. It contains videos of the learning environment and of the teaching staff. There are also learning resources available for you to use at home:
